North Coast residents celebrated Fourth of July in star-spangled fashion, wowing over fireworks shows — with one notable exception — hosting backyard barbecues and attending a pair of outdoor musical events that drew thousands of people.

Judge Bertoli’s band hits the big time…

There are a couple of sizzling new elements to this year’s Fourth of July fireworks show and come-all community block party at the county fairgrounds in Santa Rosa.
One is that Sonoma County’s happiest Superior Court judge, Jim Bertoli, and his band – Court ‘n’ Disaster – will play the event, sharing the stage with Wonderbread 5 and the Pat Jordan Band.
